ITC Support Person

Are you a recent graduate looking to take the first steps in your ITC career, or perhaps you already have a start in IT and want to move into a broader support role?

The NZ Police Association is seeking an ITC support Person in a full time position based in the Wellington CBD.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a person starting out in the IT profession to gain valuable experience working within a team in a dynamic organisation. The NZ Police Association represents the interests of over 11,300 police officers and civilian staff across all levels of the NZ Police and is a high profile voice on law and order issues.

Based in our Wellington National Office, you will gain broad experience in a variety of IT and communication systems, working with other IT team members to support and implement a broad suite of applications, running on different platforms and OS.

We have several exciting projects imminent and training will be provided.

Reporting to the IT Manager, your day to day duties will include:
 

  • Providing support for desktop / laptop computer hardware, mobiles & office phones, PDAs, printers.
  • Service Desk Support for core applications, via phone, email and face to face.
  • Operational Support including server room maintenance, staff moves and changes.
  • Monitoring and purchasing of IT consumables and maintenance of the Association's computer and mobile phone inventory.

You will ideally possess the following skills:
 

  • 1st and 2nd level Service Desk experience.
  • Completed or studying towards a relevant IT tertiary qualification.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs.
  • Experience installing software, patches, updates on Desktops, Laptops, Servers.
  • Knowledge of MS Office essential.
  • A broad technology background.
